A PeoplesAlly initiative exploring the information insurers may need to understand household, companion and service-robot risks.

A robot’s model is only part of its risk story. Operating environment, maintenance, software changes, ownership transfers and interaction with people may all matter. The initiative aims to organize that evidence into a useful history rather than assume all robots have the same exposure.

Discuss the initiative →RRS is being researched as an explainable decision-support framework spanning hardware safety, autonomy and software reliability, cybersecurity, operating environment and human interaction. Maintenance and incident evidence would help inform later calibration.
The intended output is a documented assessment with supporting evidence and uncertainty—not an automatic insurance approval. Research weights and models are hypotheses to test, not established actuarial rates or a guaranteed predictor of claims.
Existing equipment, liability and cyber policies may address particular robotics exposures, depending on their terms. PeoplesAlly’s distinct research focus is future owner-oriented protection for increasingly autonomous and companion robots. We are not claiming that no robotics insurance exists elsewhere or that our proposed framework is an adopted global standard.
Registry enrollment is not insurance, a safety certification, insurer approval or a guarantee of eligibility. The affiliations described here do not imply an insurer partnership. Operational history collection and insurer integrations remain development objectives; this page does not claim an existing shared claims dataset or an active automated underwriting connection.
We welcome discussions with robot owners, manufacturers, operators and insurance professionals. Any future data contribution should use a defined scope, permission, privacy safeguards and separate terms. Please do not send telemetry, medical data, identity documents or confidential incident files through the general inquiry form.
